Are MacBook Pros actually good?
The MacBook Pro is the larger model of the two and also the pricier version. It contains a lot more components including a HDMI port, SD card slot, and cooling fan that the Air doesn't have, therefore making the laptop physically larger and more expensive. The Apple M4 MacBook Pro has two display options 14" and 16" and has a Liquid Retina XDR Display. This display includes HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology which makes the screen display more advanced, the purpose of this display is to improve both the contrast ratio and brightness of a display.
If you're looking for a laptop where the price isn't a dealbreaker, excels in performance, and is great for big tasks like creating graphics, playing games, and producing music... this is the one for you.
What are MacBook Airs good for?
The MacBook Air is a budget-friendly MacBook. It's thinner, lighter, and smaller, and it contains less software than the Pro. For example; there is no HDMI port, no SD card slot, and no cooling fan. The current 2024 MacBook also comes in two options, 13" and 15", due to having fewer components the model is smaller. The Apple MacBook Air 13/15" has an LED-backlit display, by utilising LED light rather than traditional backlighting, these displays offer crisper, brighter visuals while consuming less energy. There's the option to pay for additional upgrades to the MacBook Air, but if you're considering upgrading the specs, we recommend a Pro model.
If you're a younger tech user and are looking for a laptop for school or Uni, we recommend this choice. It's easier to transport and its smaller price tag will put your mind at ease carrying it to various lessons and lectures.
