Born out of a partnership between Acer and Samsung, the Asus Chromebook and Samsung Chromebook has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. In fact, 20 million Chromebooks were shipped to customers in 2022 alone, with a whopping 66.7 million units shipped within the last two years.

2012 was a big year for the Chromebook after it's first initial release a year prior. The tech industry witnessed two additions that elevated the browsing experience to new heights. First, the introduction of the Aura user interface brought a desktop-like feel to web browsing, enhancing user interaction and engagement.

Secondly, Samsung unveiled the Chromebox, a powerful and compact device with a sleek design and advanced functionality. Quickly, the Chromebox became a symbol of innovation, offering users a computing solution that fits into their digital lifestyles.

  • 2013:

This year, another ground-breaking device hit the Chromebook scene which was the release of the Chromebook Pixel. This device introduced a 3:2 display aspect ratio, which delivered a larger and more captivating visual for audiences to enjoy.

Its stunning picture quality set a new standard for immersive viewing experiences, captivating users with its brilliant imagery and vibrant colours.

  • 2014:

Chromebooks skyrocketed into popularity in 2014, captivating both students and businesses alike. These devices quickly became the best-selling choice for education in the USA, revolutionizing the way students learn and collaborate.

This year also witnessed the debut of the first 2-in-1 Lenovo Thinkpad Convertible Chromebook, which offered users the flexibility of a laptop and a tablet in a single device.

In 2015, the Chromebook Pixel made waves becoming the first Chromebook to feature USB-C connectivity, revolutionizing data transfer speeds and charging capabilities.

With this breakthrough, users enjoyed lightning-fast data transfers and rapid device charging, bringing convenience and efficiency to their computing experience.

  • 2016:
